Dan Bennett, long time member, passes away
Dan Bennett was with the Crime Prevention Patrol for 30 years
Dan Bennett, who recently celebrated 30 years of volunteerism with the Crime Prevention Patrol, passed away Monday, January 9th at his home. Dan endured a short, but courageous, battle with pancreatic cancer.
Dan started his service with the Patrol in 1981. During his 30 years, he held many positions on the executive officer team and participated in nearly every event the Patrol took part in. Dan's quick smile and ability to laugh during the most daunting of tasks will be greatly missed. His dry sense of humor helped many a member get through a long overnight shift without falling asleep.
Dan was a true advocate for the Patrol, bringing to light ideas and/or concerns he had in an attempt to learn from each event in order to make the next one run more smoothly.
The thoughts and prayers of all of us on the Crime Prevention Patrol are with Dan and the Bennett family.
